To my old and cherished friends, the Adams': Your loss is our loss, though we know Mr. John is settled and his soul is happy. I don't know if any words can make the pain go away, but we are here at your liesure if you should need a shoulder...or a beer. I just want to say that I fully expect, when my time comes, to arrive at the pearly gates in a fabulous white van from the 1970's, with a chauffeur named John W. Adams Jr. I would also like pizza afterwards.

I love and will miss the good man from Severn Ave.

Love, Darryl Cortello and Family.

I was very saddened to read of John's passing and hope the support from so many people and thoughts of his many good deeds will soften the hurt. I enjoyed John's friendship and our conversations when he stopped to eat at my Frostop.Later our paths crossed again during various New Orleans festivals. He even appraised my mother's house, but never would take any money for his services. A true friend. Ted Sternberg
