John Edward Adcox, Sr., 77, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away March 21, 2011. John loved life, had a smile for everyone and was a true "Southern Gentleman". John was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Marlene Nelson Adcox; his parents, Richmond and Florence Adcox; his brother Rudolph Adcox; his sister and brother in law, Necie and Kermis Bennett. He leaves behind his son and daughter in law, Norman and Sherry Adcox; his son and daughter in law, John, Jr. and Lisa Adcox; his two grandsons, John (Trey) and Logan Adcox; his sister and brother in law, Lynda and Frank Martin; his sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Larry Greer; his brother and sister in law, Jesse and Dot Adcox; his brother and sister in law, Richard and Eleanor Adcox; and his sister in law, Martha Adcox. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m., all at Collierville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org .
