John Edward Basham, 71, of Elberfeld, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born May 23, 1941 in Lewisport, KY to the late Leona Mattingly Basham Blake and George Leslie Basham, Sr.
John worked at Whirlpool for 13 years and was the owner of Johnny's Landscaping.
He was a member of Local 808 and a lifetime member of Riverbend Association. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Jean Basham; children, Joseph Edward Basham, Harold Gene Basham (Cheryl), and Nathan Ray Basham (Nickolas Smith); six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Lou Smiley, Martha Faye James, Wanda Woods, and Clyde Basham.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 17, 2012 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Scott Winiger with entombment at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
