John S. Beard, Jr.

John S. Beard, Jr., born February 19, 1928, joined his beloved wife Harriet and son Larry on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
He resided at Stonewall Haven.
His parents, John and Irene (Welty) Beard preceded him in death.
Mr. Beard, a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Martinsburg, also served in the US Air Force. He retired from the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg as a Nurses' Aide.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Carol Sue Hayes, and her life partner, Ray Rogers, of Martinsburg; a son, Paul Beard, and his wife Gail, of Baltimore, and currently residing in Australia; a brother, Conrad Beard, and his wife Barbara, of Hagerstown; a sister Ann Porter of Fla.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, who gave him great joy.
Friends will be received on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Leo Catholic Church, Inwood with Rev. Brian Shoda officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo Catholic Church.
