John H. Brovan

July 15, 1944 - May 16, 2011
John H. Brovan was born on July 15, 1944, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to parents LeRoy and Shirley (Caldwell) Brovan. After attending school in Eau Claire, he joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and spent time in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. After the Navy, he moved back to Eau Claire and became a longtime Professional Master Painter. In the mid 1980's, John left Eau Claire and moved to Spooner where he could be closer to nature. Along with his brother, he continued painting until becoming the Pioneer Press Newspaper deliveryman, which he did for approximately 25 years. John loved to hunt deer, fish, and to meet up with and converse over any topic with his friends and any one else that would listen.
John is survived by his children: Brad Brovan of Lexington, SC and his children Megan, Heather, and Brian; Carmen (John) Eikenberry of Daytona Beach, FL, and their children Kyle and Briana; Jackie, brothers: Charlie (Audrey) Brovan of Eau Claire, WI, Lyle (Collette) Brovan of Centre, AL, longtime loving companion Susan Cowan of Spooner, WI, and several nephews and nieces.
John is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jessica, and brother Jerry.
