John [Doc] Bugler, 88, passed away, Thursday, February 07, 2013 at his home in Overland Park, Kansas. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances, of 67 years, his parents, his sisters Margaret Bugler, Helen Hummel, and his brother Thomas Bugler. He graduated from De La Salle High School in 1943 and then entered the Army Air Corps where he served as a B-17 bomber pilot in World War II. John was then commissioned to 1st Lieutenant and was recalled for another 21 months during the Korean War. John managed several successful mutual fund offices in the Kansas City area for over twenty years. He also was a chapter coordinator of Service Corps of Retired Executives for the Small Business Administration. John leaves his family of six children: Phyllis Barnes, husband Royce; Janice Reeves, husband Dennis; Karen Frank, husband Gaylord; Carl Bugler; Chris Bugler, wife Betty; and Grace Marie Ebner, husband Michael, all from the greater Kansas City area. He is survived by his brother Richard [Dick] Bugler. John is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Dad was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor, that devoted his life to his wife, family and his Catholic faith. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Rosary at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Entombment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery Mausoleum.
