John S. Carmona, age 90, was chosen by God to be by his side after a brief illness.
John joins his beloved wife, Esperanza Carmona who preceded him in death, in heaven, as well as his beloved son, Johnny Carmona Jr.
Born Oct. 23, 1919 in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Soledad and Jose Carmona, he moved to Los Angeles at a very young age. Shortly after he moved to Ventura County where he permanently resided. He then met and married the love of his life, "Esperanza", on St. Valentine's Day in 1940.
John enjoyed a 30 year career as a mason tender (Local 585). After retirement he took pleasure in many things; he appreciated the morning sunrise by taking his morning walks, weekly trips to the local farmers market and, most important, he enjoyed the countless hours he would spend with family. John had a heart of gold and knew how to love unconditionally. His memories will be deeply cherished although he will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his children, Daniel and wife Sandra Carmona, Edward and wife Vivian Carmona, Delia Carmona, Gloria and husband Ernie Cruz; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
