John H. Wilson, Jr. age 78 of Ocoee, FL passed away on January 9, 2014. He was born in Lake Wales, FL on January 10, 1935. He graduated from Lake Wales High School in 1953 and received his BA from Rollins College in Criminal Justice in 1981. John retired as a Tech Sergeant after 20 years in the US Air Force, where he received the Bronze Star. He then retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was married to Martha Elaine Worden for 22 years and was preceded in death by his second wife, Myra Faye Smith, who he was married to for 30 years. John is survived by his children: Tony (Rose) Wilson, Ritchie Wilson, Timothy (Mary) Wilson, Jerry (Suzanne) Wilson, Pat (Jerry) Romine, Cheryl (Larry) Pressler, and Randy Walden; his sister, Marabell (Bob) Lemon and by his thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be 1 PM Wednesday, Jan 15 at West Orlando Baptist Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL. Memorials can be made in memory of Mr. Wilson to West Orlando Baptist Church, Ocoee, FL.
