Jon E. Baisch, PhD.
Born December 19, 1927 in Battle Creek, the son of Russel and Florence Baisch, passed away at the age of 84. Jon served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After returning from the war he obtained his PhD and retired as Professor Emeritus from Michigan State University, teaching theater for more than 27 years. He was very passionate about the theater, working professionally as a director and an actor for many years, as well as founding the Coventry Players in Mason in 1972. Jon previously had worked in Chicago and New York in television and radio. Jon was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Mason for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jon is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Phyllis; son, Lawrence R. Baisch; daughter-in-law, Alicia; granddaughter, Ainsley Marinne; and his sister Donna E (Jack) Ossewaarde of Chattanooga, TN. The family will hold a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Ash St., Mason.
