Jordan Alves, age 23, of Dartmouth, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Amaro and Maria (Alves) Alves. He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, Class of 2007 and a student at UMASS Dartmouth. He had worked at the Brewers Supply Group in Providence for the past year. He was an avid sports fan and had played for various soccer teams in the area since childhood. Jordan loved his family and friends and could always put a smile on someone's face. He believed in living life to its fullest.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, Jason Alves and his wife Stephanie of New Bedford; maternal grandparents, Jose and Ilda Alves of Dartmouth; paternal grandmother, Lurdes Alves of Portugal; godparents, Alfredo and Fernanda DaSilva; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was also the grandson of the late Adelino Alves.
His funeral will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 8:30 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Homes of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, followed by his funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours, Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to, Hasbro Children's Hospital, P.O.
