Jose "Joe" Quiniones Alejandro of Bremerton, Washington, passed away peacefully Sunday, 11 December 2011 at the age of 85. Jose was born on September 5, 1926 in Virac Catanduanes Philippines to Felix Camacho Alejandro and Maria Aguilar Quiniones. He graduated from Catanduanes Academy in Calolbon, Catanduanes, and the National Teachers College on December 15, 1951. While in Manila he was hired by OTIS Elevator Company as an elevator mechanic. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 24, 1955, was introduced to the former Mercedes Vivas Robles of Olongapo City Philippines and married on January 28, 1959. While in the Navy, his duty assignments were served on the USS Tortuga LSD-26, USS Cavallaro APD-128, USS Sacramento AOE-1, USS Constellation CV-64, SHORE duty assignments at COMNAVMAR Guam Marianas Island: NAVSECGRU Marrietta, Washington and COMNAVPHIL, San Miguel Philippines, Whidbey Naval Station, Oak Harbor Washington.
He retired on June 22, 1976 as a Chief Petty Officer. His awards consisted of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medals. Following his retirement, he was employed by Lockheed Martin for fifteen years as a Missile Parts Warehouseman and retired in January 1991.
Jose enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling and walking his dog Princess at Lions Field. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Disabled American Veterans, Fleet Reserved Association, Fil-Am Association of Kitsap County, and the Visayan Club of Kitsap County. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Mercedes, two sons Victor, Daniel and wife Libby, two daughters Susan, Helen and husband Joe, four grandchildren Nicholas, Kristine, Cyrus and Shaun, three sisters Rizalina, Carmen and Sr. Maria Speranza and two brothers Alfredo and David of Philippines. He leaves behind fond memories with his many loving and supportive relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Juliana and Potenciana, four brothers Angeles, Benjamin, Esmeraldo and Salvador.

Viewing will be on Friday, December 16 at 10 am-5 pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton WA 98312. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 19 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Parish, Bremerton WA, followed by reception and procession at 1:30 pm.
