Hyannis – Jose Amaral, 75, passed away April 16, 2010. Born in the
Azores, he spent his early years there until relocating to Canada at
age 27 to join his brother in the restaurant business. Prior to
leaving the Azores, he met and married his wife Maria Cecilia. In 1972
they relocated to Hyannis where he started his own business, Sunrise
Landscaping. He was self-employed during the majority of his working
life.
He loved gardening, telling jokes and was an avid sports enthusiast.
He was a devoted family man and will be remembered for his sense of
humor and love of life. He is survived by his wife Maria Cecilia,
daughter, Loren Amaral of Clinton and his brother, Manuel Sousa and
wife Maria of Canada. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday April 21, 2010 from 4-8pm at the Doane
Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, MA 02360. A mass of
Christian burial will be held on Friday April 22 2010 at 10 at Our Lady
of Victory Church in Centerville. Interment will be in St. Francis
Xavier Cemetery.
