Lewiston- Joseph W. Caron, 81, of Oak Park, Lewiston died Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born in Brunswick, Maine on June 11, 1932, a son of the late Gaudias and Edith (Painchaud) Caron. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper. This is also when he started his career as a chef. Joseph married his one true love, Gisele (Boivin) on January 20, 1951 in Fort Benning, Georgia. She predeceased him in March 2012. He was a loving husband and has missed Gisele every day since her passing. Joe worked the majority of his career as a chef at Bowdoin College before retiring from Bowdoin in 1991. He was a former member of the VFW. He leaves his four children, Linda Marquis of Brunswick, Ronald Caron of Lewiston, Donald Caron and wife Linda of Lewiston and Lisa Erskine and husband James of Turner, four grandchildren John Marquis and wife Karina of Connecticut, Sarah Dumais and husband Greg of Lewiston, Morgan and Courtney Erskine of Turner and two great grandsons, Benjamin and Dominic Dumais of Lewiston. He was predeceased by a son Cornel Caron, a sister Jeannine Caron, and a brother Nelson Caron.
