Joseph Jean Paul Daigle

April 28, 1927 - December 28, 2010
Joseph Jean Paul Daigle, age 83, of Somerset, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the longtime companion of the late Helen Warr.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Fidele and Elmina (Blanchard) Daigle, he had been a longtime area resident and also resided in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He worked at J.P. Loranger in New Bedford for many years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Fairhaven, the Laborers International Union of North America Local 385 in Fairhaven, the Single Adults Club of Fall River, and a bowling league while living in Port St. Lucie. He was an avid boater and enjoyed his boat "Summer Wine."

He is survived by two sons, Thomas J. and Paul N. Daigle both of Fairhaven, one brother George Daigle of New Bedford, Helen's children Patricia Ibanez of Virginia, Colleen Feilhauer of Somerset, Betsy Warr of CA, John Warr of Freetown, and the late Sheila Lynch and Kerry Ainsworth. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 9:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset . Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at ROSE E. SULLIVAN, 866 County St., Somerset. Contributions in his honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210. Burial private.
