Joseph G. Garza, 59, a resident of Hughson, CA passed away in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in his family home. Mr. Garza was born in Mexico, and lived there until he was 10 years of age. His family then moved to the United States. Joseph attended Hughson High and graduated in 1971. He received is A.A. from Modesto Junior College, with emphasis in Photography. He also took many classes in the field of forestry. He was a very hard worker at Tri-Valley Growers Plant #7, as a supervisor for 25 years. Joseph was a resident of Hughson for nearly half a century.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Onofre and Minerva Garza, and his siblings: Homer, Armanda, Onofre Jr., Jorge, Emma, and Irma. He also leaves behind a son, Levi Garza, and a fiancé Lynette Strachanowski. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews, he will be missed by his dear family and his many friends.
Joseph was an avid listener of 104.1 the Hawk. He enjoyed calling the radio station and winning tickets to concerts and going to many events that the radio station held. Because of this radio station, Joseph had made many friends and connections with so many people.
After retiring, he took great pride in caring for his mother and father. He was a wonderful caretaker, and he loved helping his parents with day to day activities. Joe had a magnetic personality that couldn't be denied. He was incredibly friendly, and he loved to socialize with everyone around him. Joseph was such a kind person, and willing to help anyone that crossed his path. Joe's memory will live forever. He will be greatly missed, and he'll always be loved. "YEAH!!!"
The viewing for Joe will be on Wednesday March 20th from 4 to 8pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, California. The funeral service will also take place at Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday March 21st at 10am. A luncheon will follow at St. Anthony's Church in Hughson, California.
