Born in Hai Duong on 12/12/1931, Joseph Mo Khac Nguyen began his journey through life.
Mo attended elementary school in North Vietnam. During the turmoil of the Vietnam War, he had to quickly grow up and took care of himself at a very young age. He proudly served in the Republic of South Vietnam Army.
Around the Fall of Saigon, he left Vietnam, established in New York, then relocated to the Bay Area. Seeking further education to better his life, he attended Foothill College and worked in the Silicon Valley until he retired.
He took joy in gardening fruit trees, exotic flower plants, and orchids. Vietnamese food was his favorite culinary delight, and cooking was a fun and exciting experimental hobby for him. What made him most happy was the health and happiness of his children and grandchildren. His thoughts were consumed with their well-being, and his eyes lit up when he talked about the grandkids.
Mo was a man with a big heart, great conviction, delightful candor, and deep well of forgiveness. For he was a giver, faithful and loving husband, devoted father, affectionate grandfather, and generous friend. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ngoc Oanh Pham, of 31 years, five children and their families.
Mo will be dearly missed.
