Joyce Ann Bowen, 72, died Thursday January 19, 2012 at Martin General Hospital. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Kurt Honican and Russell Mann officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Joyce was born on January 11, 1940 in Martin County. She was the daughter of the late Prince and Lizzie Mae Rogerson Ayers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a grandson Stacy Bowen Jr, and brothers Roger Ayers and Jimmy Ayers and her parents.
Survivors are her husband Wayne Bowen of 53 years, a daughter Valerie B Glisson and husband Clay of Springfield TN, sons Richard Bowen and wife Janet of Robersonville and Stacy Bowen and wife Sharon of Springfield TN, sisters Doris Beacham and husband Raleigh of Williamston and Linda Brown and husband Billy of Currituck, brother Joe Ayers and wife Peggy of Washington, grandchildren Travis Glisson & Shannon, Tera Fraine and Johnathan, Tiffany Bowen, Ric Bowen, And Brittney Bowen, great grandchildren Nathan, Grayson, Brenden, Addison, Ella, and Trinity Fisher.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 PM at the church and other times at the residence 3562 Wynn Road Robersonville NC
