Juanita Gomez Blair, 88, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at The Lutheran Home of Napoleon surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on July 24, 1923 in Woodsboro, Texas to the late Tomas and Margarita (Mendoza) Gomez.
She was married to her first husband Alonzo Salaz and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2011. She was married to her second husband Deward Blair on June 3, 1983 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2007.
Juanita was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and God mother to many of her nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Napoleon.
Juanita is survived by three daughters, Betty (Doug) Shepard of Napoleon, Estela (Tom) Spires of Holgate and Deborah Salaz Armbruster of Napoleon; six grandchildren, Dana, Daniel, Kimberly, Kris, Jevin, and Destin; eight great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Janie Gomez and Lucy Gomez.
She was preceded in death by a three sisters, Virginia Shafer, Pearl Gomez-Balleza, and Rebecca Rodriguez; six brothers, Manuel, Pedro, Feliz, Tomas, Hilario "Eddie", and Lupe "Wally" Gomez; a son-in-law, Gary L. Armbruster.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from
2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a rosary service at 7:30 P.M. at the Snyder Wesche Funeral Home of Napoleon.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church of Napoleon with Father Daniel Borgelt, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the benevolence of the family.
