JULIA ARANA
June 29, 1935-Feb. 19, 2012
Julia Arana was born in La Union de San Antonio, Jalisco, Mexico on June 29, 1935 to Jose Carmelo Mendoza and Bernadina Oliva. She went to rest with our Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the age of 76.
Julia had a strong will to live and her life revolved around her family. She married the love of her life, Domingo, in July of 1961. They have lived in Merced for the last 42 years where they raised their son, Jose. Her joys in life where her grandchildren and great grandson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Domingo Arana; son, Jose (Mary Ellen) Arana; granddaughter, Adrienne (Michael) Guerra; grandson, Brandon; great grandson, Gabriel; brothers, Jose (Domitila) Mendoza and Tony; sisters, Licha (Edwardo), Carmela, and Lolita (Larry); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Carmelo Mendoza and Bernadina Oliva; grandson, Joseph Mitchel Arana; and godson, Aaron Mendoza.
Visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary to be at 6:00 p.m. Services will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater, CA at 9:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
