While very sad that our dear friend left us prematurely, i am so grateful for the many laughs, experiences, and ideas we shared during our 40+ year friendship. She was one
of a kind and brought a definite sparkle for sure❤ .

I was Karen's major professor during graduate school. Karen was joyful, intelligent, conscientious, and committed. Working with her was always a privilege. I am so sorry that she leaves us so early. It breaks my heart when I outlive my students.

Again, my deepest sympathies to Alison and her family. I knew Karen for 40 years; she was a most unique and lovely friend funny, incredibly intelligent and eclectic in her breadth of knowledge, incredibly interesting to talk with, and a sweet soul. I always learned something from her and we always laughed. She will remain in my heart.
