Karin Fahey (Breese) Cable, age 67, passed away on May 22, 2014. Diagnosed only 140 days ago with stage IV lung cancer, she bravely battled the illness with dignity and grace. She died at home among her family and dearest friends.
Karin was born in Norwalk, on July 14, 1946 to Edward Marion and Gloria M. Breese. She graduated from Norwalk High School and earned her Associates Degree from Norwalk Community College.

As their Gammie, Karin adored Jordan, Quinn, Brody and Joey. She doted on, bragged about and continually showered them with wonderful adventures, gifts, and memories. As a mother, Karin was proud of Melissa and Kevin's many personal and professional accomplishments and was always the first to sing their praises. As a daughter, she loved her mother who was both her companion and best friend.
Karin loved the Boston Red Sox. She was quite possibly their greatest fan; rooting for her team whether they were losing, winning the World Series, or sporting scraggly beards, she never lost faith or missed a game. Fenway Park was her heaven on earth.
Each summer Karin and her family vacationed on Charlestown Beach in Rhode Island. Here she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and daughter, basking in the sun, cooking for her family, eating lobster rolls and soft-serve ice cream. These were among her most cherished times and she looked forward to it every year.
Karin worked at Stop & Shop in both Connecticut and New York. She was proud to be part of the Stop & Shop family and took great pride in her work. Prior to her illness, Karin served as a volunteer for Saint Matthews Church cooking meals for homebound families and was an avid gardener.
