CHAPIN – Funeral services for Katie L. Amick, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 844, Columbia Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036. Interment will follow in the Amick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Shealy, Kenneth Shealy, Jeremy Shealy Doug Frick, Eddie Epting, Joey David, Daryl Keen and Dennis Lindler. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Generations and the staff of Harmony Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Mrs. Amick was born on July 14, 1921 in Chapin, SC and passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011. She was a daughter of the late D. Bachman Lindler and Essie Belle Wessinger Lindler. Mrs. Amick was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. She retired from GE.
Mrs. Amick is survived by her daughters, Earline Shealy (Richard), Mary White Epting (Boots) and Jo David (Carroll); grandchildren, Michael Shealy, Kenneth Shealy, Marie Frick, Michele White, Joey David, Chris David, Tina Keen and Cynthia Thompson; 5 great-grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Effie Frick, Annie Evans and brothers, John Lindler and Herbert Lindler. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Earl Amick; son, Grady Amick; brothers, Claude, Clebourn, Willard, Ollie and Robert Lindler and sisters, Vera Amick and Vergie Koon.
