Keegan Atley Adkins, 6, of Louisville passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Kosair Children's Hospital. He loved school and to play soccer, golf, swim and draw. He was extremely creative and was a real animal lover. He definitely was all boy.
Keegan liked to travel with his Mom and work along side her volunteering for the public safety organization Supporting Heroes Inc., in support of his Dad's fire, police and EMS families.
Preceding him in death was his brother, USMC Sgt. Cory Allen Adkins in 2008.
Cherishing his life and memory are his parents, Scott Allen and Shannon Leann Matthews Adkins; brothers, Jacob Adkins, Samuel and Seth Linville; grandparents, Harold and Pat Adkins, Larry and Dorothy Barry, Carolyn Sue and Roger Meadows and Steve Matthews; niece, Lucy Michelle Bragg and many aunts, uncles and his enormous public safety family.
Also, his friends and the staff at Farmer Elementary.
Keegan's Life Celebration will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Ninth & O Baptist Church, 4401 Breckenridge Lane, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, and Wednesday from 11 a.m. till service time at the church.
Keegan gave the ultimate gift of life by donating his organs to help save others.
Contributions may take the form of donations made to the family in lieu of flowers.
