Kenneth A. Kato 79, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa, and is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Velma-Jean Kato; one daughter, Karen Kato Ghazi Hosseini and her husband, Reza Ghazi Hosseini; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ghazi Hosseini, and Stephanie Ghazi Hosseini Troop; one sister, W. Lois Rogers; a sister-in-law, Eileen A. Townsend; and various nieces and nephews.
Kenneth retired from Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. in 1995 after 43 years of service.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. followed by a chapel service at 11 a.m. with committal services following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 11005 North US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 will be conducting services for the family.

To the family of Mr. Kato, my prayers are with you. I graduated from high school in 1963 and started to work at the Winn Dixie warehouse on Hillsborough Ave. I worked at the "IBM" Dept at the warehouse and Mr. Kato would pick up reports from us. Even though I was the "new" kid on the job Mr. Kato was always friendly to me. He seemed to me to be a very big man with a big smile and personality. My Sympathy to his family.
