KB was an incredibly inspired artist with talents beyond recognition. He had such an indescribable passion for life and loved to live fast paced and relentlessly. His family was his inspiration, Jaime his motivation and music was his all-time passion. As his wife, Jaime had never met anyone so dedicated to the unconditional love that the Beckman family instills in the people around them. "Loyalty 'til Death." KB never missed an opportunity to use his entrepreneurship skills at any point. He is known across the nation as well as internationally as an incredibly talented rap artist and MC and will live on in his music and through the love of his fans.
He had the opportunity to travel to Japan with his best friend Kenoe to pursue their international career and he blew up the West Coast with AME and KB Entertainment. He had the opportunity to perform with many of his favorite and idol rap artists during the time span of his music and hip-hop career. KB was the co-business owner of Razzmatazz Dance Company in Eugene along with his wife Jaime. They loved working together with more than 100 different families with children ages 2 and up to create an affordable dance company that offered hip-hop,tap, jazz, ballet, and yes…KB choreographed break dance moves to personalized music for his own Boss Boyz Crew.
He loved children and being a positive role model in the eyes of those who saw him for exactly who he was. KB also found great pride in being the President of the Oregon Chapter of Rollerz Only Lowrider Car Club founded over two decades ago in 1988 in Los Angeles. His pride and joy was his "72" Chevy Monte Carlo Classic with wire spoke wheels and swivel front seats. Rollerz Only is a committed Lowrider family with chapters throughout the world that surrounded KB and Jaime with an incredible amount of family, love and support anytime they traveled away from home. KB and Jaime seeked every opportunity to love and enjoy God's majesty of the outdoors by camping and traveling wherever and whenever possible. Some of their favorite places to escape were Cottage Grove Lake, the hot springs, and the hidden waterfalls where KB proposed to the love of his life. Kent grew up enjoying sports like skateboarding and soccer and became an incredible asset the different teams he was a part of. Another favorite past time of KB and his family was playing rec. soccer with his family and kickin' it in the pub afterwards at Kick City. Kent's childhood best friend, Tony Holmes and other friends from his younger school years enjoyed producing their first songs and writing interests while kickin' it in the "Snack Shack." From this childhood hang-out began the beginning of Tony and KB's Reck n' Crew and grew KB's passion to let music change his life. While in Eugene, KB began the foundation of North West School of Artists, which offered kids in the Springfield area a place to come together for music lessons, legal tagging, DJ and mixing classes, hip hop dance and other endless alternatives to turning away from the temptations provided on the streets. His testimony promotes offering the lost, hopeless, and those without the chance to better their lives through a new-found passion.
His time in Idaho, while short, revolutionized his life and his relationship with Christ. He immediately fell in love with the country and hard-working lifestyle. He began cooking at two of the finest restaurants in town while turning his passion of music into a hobby of reevaluation. He joined Valley Christian Church and the worship team and became the "sickest" harmonica playin' worship leader the Church has ever seen. He was baptized on May 26th by his Father-in-Law, Pastor, and favorite mentor in his new-found life.
Within the first month of KB moving to Idaho he created a venue for kids under 21 to attend "Positive Hip Hop Movement for Kids" allowing a drug and alcohol-free place for kids in the surrounding areas to find a safe and fun place to enjoy friends and music. He also grew very fond of the Victory Home Family that offers support to recovering addicts and children that have parents who are incarcerated. He co-organized "Victory Lap for Victory Home" as a 5 & 10K with games, healthy snacks, and live music at the College of Southern Idaho. His love of music grew into a love of worship and fellowship and he adjusted his lyrics to reach the masses of the lost souls aching to find light in a parallel of the darkness. In his death his life and passion will remain a legacy to those who knew him and his music will reach those who need it. He followed his dreams to every degree and lived 7 beautiful lifetimes in one. You will be so greatly missed, but never forgotten Kent Beckman.
