Kevin Gerard Abascal, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the age of 29. He is survived by his wife, Mary Halton. Beloved son of Gerardo and Darlene Abascal, and brother of Stephanie Abascal-Anderson. A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, he was a graduate of Jesuit High School, he attended Nicholls State University's John Folse Culinary Institute. Kevin was a member of the New Orleans Fire Department, Engine 17, and an Emergency Medical Technician. He was an Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 150. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 21 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Sunday night. Visitation on Monday, November 22, will be at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30 AM.
