Kimberly Laura Apel, age 31, of Clinton passed away on April 19, 2012 after a brief illness. Kimberly was born on July 11, 1980 to Patricia and Raymond Apel. She was predeceased by her grandmothers Helen Apel and Mary Chafee, and by her uncle Andy Apel. In addition to her parents, Kimberly is survived by her brother Christopher Apel of Clinton; her maternal aunt and uncle, Debbie and Paul Griswold of Killingworth; her paternal aunt and uncle Karen and Mike Rand of Westbrook; cousins Jill Griswold of Killingworth, Andrea Marland of Orlando, Florida, Wendy Malo of Round Rock, Texas, and Liz Bowker of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased by her cousin Michael Rand of Killingworth. She also leaves her best friend Joe Mclaughlin and her beloved animals, dogs Katie and Murphy and her cat, Kitty, as well as many other friends, co-workers and relatives.
Kimberly was a 1999 graduate of the Morgan School in Clinton and a graduate of Branford Hall Career Institute where she obtained a degree in computer Networking Administration. For the past six and a half years, Kimberly worked as a Technological Paraprofessional in the Madison School System where she loved interacting and working with the children.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main St., in Clinton. Burial will be private. Friends may leave messages of condolence online at www.swanfh.com.
