Kira Lee (Brush) Brazo
Age 64, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 in Redding, California. She was born July 10, 1946 in Inglewood, California.
Kira moved to Fall River Mills in 1963 from Canoga Park, California and graduated from Fall River High School in 1964.
Kira and her business partner, Sally Jacobsen, founded The Mountain Echo, a career she loved and in which she excelled until her forced retirement in the early 1980s due to illness.
Prior to her illness, Kira was an active member of the Burney Lions Auxiliary and founding member of the Burney Broads, a successful AAA women's softball team active in the 1970s.
Kira is survived by her children Jennifer Faber (James), son John Brazo, IV, (Donella); six grandchildren; sister Karol (Jim),brother Carl (Sylvia), brother, Scott Hanie, longtime friend Mary Jane Marx, care provider Kelly Cotney, numerous nieces and nephews, and canine companion, Skeeter. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Cleo and Carl Brush and her father, Orville Hanie.
Kira gracefully fought a courageous battle with her illness and was an inspiration to those who knew her. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 1:00 p.m. at McDonald's Chapel in Burney.
