LaWanna Eileen Allen
June 29, 1941 - August 5, 2012
LaWanna was born June 29, 1941 in Alma Nebraska to Wayne and Twyla Gillespie, the eldest of six children.
She passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. LaWanna spent most of her early years in Sonoma County, CA before moving to Redding, CA in 1980. She enjoyed fishing, camping ,entertaining family events and B.I.N.G.O. She spent several years fund raising for the Enterprise Eagle Youth Football League and volunteered to be team mom for many softball teams. After retiring she very much enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, family and many friends. But she loved nothing more than being with her family.
She is survived by husband Richard L. Allen, son Anthony (Tony) Allen and wife Annette, daughter Debby Rickert and husband Dan, son Richard (Rick) Allen and wife Diane, and daughter Rene Allen, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters Barbara Becerra and Nancy Bradford, brother Timothy Gillespie, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
