LAURETTE S. SOMMER, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at The Towne House Retirement Community. Born Jan. 24, 1930, in Topsham, Maine, she was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was a stay at home mother who raised her family. After they were grown, she worked in the office at Grabill Cabinet Co. for 10 years. She was a former President of Cedar Creek Women's Club and member of Autumn Ridge Women's Golf League. Surviving are her husband, Joseph; daughter, Terri (Tom) Cooney of Eden Prairie, Minn.; sons, Robin Sommer (Kim Powell) and Patrick Sommer, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kyle, Hilary, Spencer, Erin, Shannon, and Shea; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Sommer, in 2009; grandson, Cameron; one sister; and four brothers. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., with calling 1 1/2 hours prior to service. The Rev. Mark Neubacher officiating.
