Lawrence "Buzz" Asplund, 79 years of age passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital after a long battle with heart disease and complications of pneumonia. Buzz was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Oshkosh University in Wisconsin. He worked in the newspaper business for many years before retiring from the Louisville Times. Buzz then worked and loved his job at the John-Kenyon Eye Center. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul, his parents and his brother.
Survivors include his wife, Glee Asplund; children, Bob Asplund, Glee Brush, Kip Asplund (Kendra); grandchildren Haley, Keith, and Paul; sisters Bette Ariens and Jacque Dickenshied
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 3:00 pm Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Tuesday at church. There will be a private burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana
