Lawrence S. Heuer

March 7, 1928 - August 27, 2011
Lawrence S. Heuer, 83, of Burlington passed away August 27, 2011 at Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born March 7, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to John E. and Rosemary (Farrier) Heuer. He married Shirley J. Mack on February 15, 1948 in Coldwater. She survives.
He retired from Post Division of General Foods, Battle Creek in 1983. He had worked at different companies in Battle Creek; former Western Biscuit, United Steel & Wire plus he drove cars for Brookside in Burlington. He belonged to the Post 25 year club.
Larry served honorably in the U. S. Army during World War II, at Percy Jones Hospital at Ft. Custer and stayed in the area after his discharge.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley, two daughters; Sandra (Jim) Chambers of Jonesville, Mary (Terry) Renshaw of Litchfield, one son; Steve (Sara) Heuer of Dowagiac, 9 grandchildren; Jim Larry, Ted Chambers; David, Brent DeMint; Kelli Case; Chad, Skip, Max Heuer; Adam Paulson. 9 great grandchildren; Taylor, Kyler, Chaz, Ethen, Alec, Madison, Easton, Trenton, Mason and 1 great great grandson, Hunter Dale Case, who was named by his great great grandfather, Larry; 2 brothers-in-law; Louis and Charles Mack. He was preceded in death by a grand son-in-law; Dale Case and 2 brothers-in-law; Lyle and Bob Mack.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Burlington Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Halbleib officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burlington Township Firefighters.
