Lee Alan Davies

Lee Alan Davies was born on March 26, 1955 in Bremerton, WA and passed away on Sunday October 7, 2012, at the age of 57. Lee was the son of Richard Arthur Davies and Beverly Joan Jennings Vollmar. Lee attended and graduated from Williamston High School in 1973. He was well known for being a great wrestler and setting long distance X-country track records. Lee was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and he enjoyed his time as a swimming lifeguard. He later graduated from Tri-State University in Angola, IN, with a B.S. in Engineering. In October 1983 Lee was one of three engineers that helped develop an all composite attack helicopter for the Army. In 1985, Lee led a design and development team to deliver the V-22 Osprey by 1999 for Boeing Aircraft. He also loved motorcycles, specifically the Triumph bikes. As a young boy, Lee loved his many hobbies; building models of military ships and planes, slot cars and H & O trains.
Lee is survived by his parents; Richard Davies of Henderson, NV, Beverly Vollmar of Westbend, WI, loving son; John David Davies (fiancé, Renee) of Traverse City, twin sister; Jill C. (Rick) Prasnicki of Charlotte, NC, sister; Holly (John) Rinke of Jackson, WI. The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St. Williamston, on Saturday October 13, 2012 from 10am-12 pm, with the funeral service directly following visitation, with the Rev. Mark St. Louis, officiating.
