Leon Bearden 87 of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on November 4, 2012 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Bearden was born April 16, 1925 in Miller County, Arkansas. He was a retired supervisor for the Texarkana,Arkansas street department and was a member of South Texarkana Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Bearden and a son Danny Bearden.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Libby and Charlie Gill of Texarkana, son and daughter-in-law; Mike and Karen Bearden of Texarkana, grandsons and granddaughters-in-law; Chris and Kelli Bearden of Atlanta,Texas, Bryan and Lisa Bearden of White Hall,Arkansas and Danny Engledowl of Davie,Florida. Mr. Bearden is also survived by his great grandchildren, Trent Bearden of Atlanta,Texas, Britten Bearden of White Hall,Arkansas, Kade Brooks of Atlanta,Texas and a sister, Erma Ray of Malvern,Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. John Bryant officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
