Leona Marie, nee Wittlich, Spehn, 99, born October 4, 1913 in Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at St. Paul's Home, Belleville, Illinois
Leona and her husband were owners and operators of Reliable Rug and Upholstery Cleaners in Belleville, Illinois. She was active with the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1221, Swansea, Illinois. She was active with the Senior Olympics, winning a gold medal for bowling. She was a bowling instructor at Panorama Bowling Alley in Belleville, Illinois. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, and traveling with her husband. She was an avid reader who learned the computer in her mid eighties.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Spehn; parents, Arthur and Eugenia, nee Bossler, Wittlich; brother, Arthur Wittlich; sister and brother in law, Lucille (Cyril) Biver; nephew, Ray Spehn and Robert Spehn.
Surviving are her nieces, Patricia (Richard) Prosser and Mary Ann Bower; special caregiver and friend, Debbie Scharf, she is also, survived by many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
