Mrs. Leslie Irene Franklin, 84, a resident of Brunswick, died Saturday 6/28/14 in Homelife at Glynco in Brunswick.
Mrs. Franklin was born on August 4, 1929 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Raymond Alton and Virgie Demery Walling. She attended Glynn Academy and was a member of the Norwich Street Baptist Church.
In her early years she worked at the Oglethorpe Hotel, King and Price Hotel and the Deck Restaurant.
Mrs. Franklin enjoyed her weekly Card games with her family and friends including Sheila McNeill, Debbie Youngner, Lynn Warwick, Nora Mobley and Brian Mobley.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, Lawton Franklin, her son, Gerald Lawton Franklin (Betty), her parents, and two sisters, Dorothy W. Michaels, and Nora W. Mobley.
Survivors are her Children, Ronnie Franklin (Barbara) of Grand Rapid, MI., Bruce Franklin (Carolyn) and Mike Franklin (Denise) both of Brunswick, Patricia Hughes (Joe) of Brighton, TN., Donna Kay Hoots (Gene) of Hendersonville, N.C., and Donald Ray (Bubba) Franklin (Marie) of Gainesville, Ga., a brother, Alton Walling of Brunswick, 12 grandchildren, host of Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 5 O'clock Wednesday 7/2/14 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 4 till 5 PM Wednesday.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Jack Amie, Dr. Timothy Jamieson, Dr. Lana Skelton and Dr. Duane Moores.
