Jacobs, Leslie "Grady"was born on May 10, 1923 and passed from this life on July 28, 2013. He loved God, the church, and his family. He was a friend to all and much of his service to God was by serving others. He was always willing and eager to extend help to anyone in need. He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1950, where he served as a deacon. He headed up the Master's Builders program and traveled to many places providing construction assistance to smaller churches. After high school graduation, he served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945 where he learned to fly planes. As a gift from his daughter-in-law, Linda Jacobs he had the opportunity to once again fly in a Stearman, which was the plane he learned to fly in. After release from the military, he worked as a butcher at A&P grocery store manager. He owned an appliance service store. He was also a master craftsman, and his handy work which was enjoyed by many either in custom woodwork, in homes or many different wooden works of art that he gifted to family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Christyne Jacobs, his sons, Les and wife, Faye; Gary and wife, Debbie; Five grandchildren, Alicia DeLay and husband Lance. Her motherDonna Jacobs; Alex Jacobs, Cory Jacobs and wife Christy, and their mother, Linda Jacobs; Lindsay Cumbie and husband, Chad; and Blake Jacobs. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Bryce and Hadley DeLay, Brianna Cumbie, Lylah, Carly, Caitlyn Jacobs, and sister, Nancy Stubbs and hsuband Earl. Nieces and nephews as well. Predeceased by his parents Aaron and Edna Jacobs, sister Mary Lou Jacobs, and brother Bill Jacobs. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 31st from 6-8pm at Funeraria Del Angel located at 733 Dalworth Street in Grand Prairie, TX. Services will be Thursday August 1st at 10am at First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Donations may be made to the Master's Builders program at First Baptist Church.
