Lila Andy (Nahnahbush)
Lila Andy (Nahnahbush), age 89 years, of Big Grassy First Nation, Ontario, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
She was born on May 29, 1923 in Big Grassy First Nation, Ontario to the late Tom and Mary Adams.
Lila is survived by her son; Colin Andy; sister Annie Rodegard; and grandchildren, Allan Gibbons (Laurie Morrison), Waylon Gibbons, Melissa Archie (Robin Archie), Peter Gibbins, Bryan Andy Jr. (Tanya Jourdain) and Krystal Andy; great-grandchildren, Kenisha, Robby and Lucas Archie, Sai and Cherish Gibbins, Elizabeth and Mia Andy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Andy and two sons, Leonard Andy, and Bryan Andy Sr., daughter, Carol Andy, granddaughter, Jennifer Andy and grandson, Ashley Andy; sisters, Laura Comegan, Christina Jack, Alice Redsky and Marie Kirkrude; brothers, Steve Adams and Martin Adams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A traditional burial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 in the morning at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall. Elder Steve Johnson will officiate with burial in Morson Cemetery in Morson, Ontario at a later date.
A wake will be held on Thursday evening at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall.
Active pallbearers will be Elvis Adams, Oliver Gibbons, Robin Archie, Jason Gibbons, Chris Andy, Gerald Donaldson, Ryan Jack and Larry Gibbins.
Honourary pallbearers will be Christina Jack Jr., Mary-Ann Big George, Kathy Seymour, Yvonne Jack, Stella Tuesday, Lucy Copenace, Florence Gibbins, Marie Gibbons, Edna Indian, Elizabeth Comegan, and Vicky Gibbins.
