Lillian M. (Shaheen) Ameen, age 94, of Fall River, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the Fall River Jewish Home. She was the wife of the late Adeeb Ameen.
Born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sabat (Kalil) Shaheen, she lived in Lawrence for many years before moving to Fall River in about 1935.
Mrs. Ameen worked as a seamstress for the former Shelbourne Shirt Company in Fall River for many years. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of the Desert Church and was a member of their Mother's Guild and Lebanese Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered most as a selfless person and loving mother.
She is survived by two daughters; Helen Collins of Fall River, and Ann Marie Dostou and her husband Mark of Somerset, one brother; George Shaheen and his wife Madeline of Norwood, four grandchildren; Jay Friemark, Alicia Collins, Jonathan Dostou, and Meghan Dostou, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Rose Shaheen, Helen Sahady, Shaheen Shaheen, Maroon Shaheen, and Adele Simon.
Her Funeral will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLUVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Ave., Fall River. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
