Lorene Callahan, 82, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Gray officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
Lorene was born November 13, 1929 in Iowa Park to William J. and Ethyl (Burrell) Battle. She graduated from Iowa Park schools and married Avery G. Callahan on February 24, 1950 in Iowa Park. She worked for State National Bank of Texas for 41 years in numerous positions, retiring in 1989. She was a lifelong member of the Iowa Park Church of God, loved her grandkids and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Rolland Battle and one sister, Florence Battle.
Surviving relatives include one son, Kevin Callahan and his wife, Jennifer; one daughter, Karen Hanners and her husband, Jackie, all of Wichita Falls; one brother, Kenneth Battle and his wife, Marjorie of Henrietta, Texas; 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wichita Falls, PO Box 4804 Wichita Falls, TX 76309. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, February 20, 2012 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home.
