LILLY L. BABAK, 86, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Crown Point, Ind., died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at her residence. Born March 8, 1926, in Hammond, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Flossie Alley. She was a retired waitress and cook in Merrillville, Ind. She volunteered at the American Red Cross for several years. Surviving are her son, David Alan Young of Elizabethtown, Ky.; sisters, Dorothy Mynatt of Fort Wayne, Roslyn Trimble of Crown Point, and Evelyn Hughes of Cypress, Calif.; brother, John Alley of Indian Wells, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Babak, in 1983; three sisters; and three brothers. Funeral service is 3 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling 1-1/2 hours prior. Graveside service is noon (CDT) Friday, May 18, 2012, at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Preferred memorials to Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
