Linda Lee Stoye-Hodson, age 67 of Rock Island, died Saturday, February 09, 2013 at home.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control Center, 4001 78th Avenue, Moline IL 61265.
Linda was born on January 16, 1946 in Rock Island, the daughter of Reynard E. and Jean A. (Barr) Petterson. She married Robert Paul Stoye, Sr., on May 4, 1968 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1996. She later married Frank L. Hodson.
Linda was a homemaker for most of her life. In earlier years, she worked at the Eagle Signal Company in Davenport, and also at the East Moline State Hospital and Moline Public Hospital. Throughout her life she was often called on to be a caregiver to many family and friends, always helping out when needed.
Linda was a member of the Women of the Moose, Rock Island, and the ladies auxiliaries of the Rock Island VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Milan American Legion. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, dancing to the jukebox music, camping, and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. She also loved and cared for her teacup poodles, Gracie-Roo and Heidi-Ho.
Survivors (and spouses) include Frank Hodson, Rock Island; daughters, Teresa (Jeff) Thomas, Colona and Lieschen "Kaylie" (Ryan) Rowe, Moline; sons, Marlin "Marty" (Diana) Stoye, Phoenix, AZ and Robert P. Stoye, Jr., Rock Island; twin sister, Sharon (Ray) Smith, Moline and sisters RaeJean (Dave) Cather, Sherrard and Carolyn (Gary) Massie, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Adam "Ace" Thomas, Cody Spriet, Skylor Adams, Catherine and Gary Stoye, and Jessica Stoye; and a great grandson, Cody "C.J." Spriet, Jr.
In addition to her husband Robert, her parents preceded Linda in death.
