LINDA VOCHATZER passed away Feb 9, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital with her family at her side. She was born to Oral and Irene Tipton in Filmore, MO in the hot summer of 1936. The family moved to Kansas City when Linda was a child. She attended Northeast High School, graduating in 1954. It was there that she met her sweetheart and future husband Frank Vochatzer. Together Frank and Linda had 3 children. Leslie (Barbara), Mary (Rick) Green, and Nancy (Roger) Lyngstad. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory, 3 brothers. Dennis (Maxine), David, and Tom (Nancy) Tipton, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Linda worked at North Kansas City Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service. Visitation will be Wednesday February 13 from 5-7pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb 14th, 2pm at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7600 NW Barry Road, Kansas City. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mark DeWolf and the nurses and staff of the 5th floor oncology unit at North Kansas City Hospital who provided excellent care for our mother. Linda was a dear friend that I met the summer of 1968 when dad moved us to Gladstone .Our families grew up together. Linda will be missed by all that knew her but she will not be forgotten by her action and words over the years.
