Lloyd "Deb " Applegate, 86 of Tollesboro passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hospice of Hope. Born June 5, 1927 to the late Lloyd J. Applegate and Hester O'Cull Applegate. Deb was the owner of Tollesboro Auto Sales as well as a carrier for the Ledger Independent.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn Wallingford Applegate; son Doug (Janie) Applegate; daughters Linda (Robert Browning)Mason of Texas, Debbie (Dudley) Boling of Tollesboro, Marla (Mike) Niccum of Indiana, and Shelia Standfield of Flemingsburg; brothers, Norman (Pauline) Applegate, Wendall (Carolyn) Applegate, Charles Applegate, H.R. "Dink" (Lisa) Applegate; sisters, Lola (Virgil) Johnston, Bertha (Bob) Evans; 15 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one son, Roger Dale Applegate, Grandson, Cullen Standfield, Great Grandson, Tanner Gilliam, Great Granddaughter, Kinslee Rice, brothers Herbert Curtis Applegate and James "Jay" Applegate and Sons-in-law Jerry Mason and John Ellis.
Funeral Services for Deb Applegate will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 1 PM at the Tollesboro Christian Church with Rev. John Moore officiating burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rod Mason, Kenny Applegate, Jimmy Hinton, Scott McCane, Darin Spence and Walter Gilliam. Visitation was held Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the church.

Aunt Kathryn, cousins Doug, Linda, Debbie, Marla and Sheila, I'm so sorry for the loss of husband and father. I know your Dad was the rock of your family along with your mother, my Aunt Kathryn.
