Logan Peter Wyeth, 25 years young, passed away Wednesday morning, February 27, 2013.
Logan was born May 11, 1987. For most of his awesome life, Logan grew up in Austin, graduating from Dripping Springs High School in 2005.
Logan's passion for life, incredible spirit, infectious humor and kindness to all around him will be missed by so many. His love for his family and friends will continue to give comfort to all of us who so dearly love and miss him.
Logan especially enjoyed the relationships and friendships he experienced while playing sports. As a child, he liked just about any sport that involved throwing a ball. He excelled at football and baseball at Dripping Springs, however, eventually focused on baseball. He was a great catcher and played baseball at Houston Baptist University. After graduation, Logan began coaching youth baseball. He had talked about wanting to eventually coach in High School. Logan worked hard at everything he wanted to accomplish, but handled success and failure with grace, humility and always a positive attitude.
Logan was also a dad, he will be missed by his young son Camden, maybe not so much now because Camden is so young, but later, when Camden learns what a wonderful person his father was. We will be sure to keep that memory alive and let Camden know how much his father loved him and was looking forward to being the best Dad he could be.
Logan leaves behind a younger brother, Jacob and sister, Caitlin. Logan's relationship with his brother and sister was amazing. There was never a cross word, just encouragement, and unconditional love. Logan's baseball jersey #20 is now worn by Jacob who we are sure will carry on his tradition of hard work behind the plate. He was so proud of Caitlin, his "little sis", always there for her as a big brother should be. Logan also leaves behind many friends, and teammates. He never knew a stranger, and would laugh at just about everything, funny or not. The sound of his laughter and joking around will echo in all of our hearts and minds forever.
We pray that Logan's strengths, and so many happy memories will help guide us through this unimaginable and tragic loss. All of us will survive and move forward with our lives but we will never forget Logan. We miss you son, brother, dad and friend. We know Logan is in Heaven now, and in the words of one of his baseball friends, "God just signed a great catcher".
Logan is preceded in death by his older brother, Michael; his dear grandmother, Anne Wyeth; and loving grandfather, JW Heathcock. I pray Logan is now in their loving arms.
He is survived by his infant son, Camden; brother, Jacob and sister, Caitlin; his loving mother, Cindy and father, Pete Wyeth. He will especially be missed by Grandma Heathcock, and Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Wyeth. Logan has many uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be missed by all of them.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, 28900 Ranch Road 12 in Dripping Springs with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery at 14501 N. IH-35 in Pflugerville, Texas.
