Loren M. Snider, 79, of 1108 8th Ave. N.W., a retired truck driver for Buttrey Foods, died of cancer Monday, November 9, 2009, at Peace Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 13, 2009, at Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughters, Dwan Sears, Lenora (Rick) Frank, and Carmen (Brian) Jambretz all of Great Falls; sons, Richard (Chris) Snider and Loren D. (Colleen) Snider of Great Falls; sisters, Betty Gilbert of Chester and Judy (Bill) Bailey of Billings; brother, Richard (Pat) Snider of Auburn, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine in 1988; parents, Marshall and Josephine H. Snider; sons, Byron and Joel and Jody; adopted son, Marshall; and brother, John.
Loren was born August 27, 1930, in Miles City. He grew up and attended schools in Chinook and Cleveland, Mont. Loren married Josephine Eschenbacher in Havre in 1949. She died in 1988.
Loren worked as a truck driver for United Transfer and Storage, Buttrey Foods where he was employed for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Truck Driver's Hall of Fame for driving 5.4 million accident-free miles.
Loren enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time with his family.
