Loretta Place passed away April 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and moved to Toms River 27 years ago. Loretta is a colon cancer survivor and proud to wear her medals from Relay for Life. Mrs. Place enjoyed spending time with her family, life, bingo with friends, and occasional trips to Atlantic City. She never missed an episode of M*A*S*H. Loretta was a loving wife, mom, G-Ma, and Friend and will be deeply missed by all. She was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Place is predeceased by her parents, Irene and Joseph Gomond, her husband Roy Place, daughter Debbie Place, and two sisters, Irene Barnes and Marion Accardo. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Brodsky and her husband Steven and Sharon Devlin and her husband Stephen, and one grandson, David Kay. Friends may call Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2-5 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
