Louis H. "Lou" Anderson, 72, died peacefully at home with family at his side on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at McLaren's Chapel, 801-19th Street, West Des Moines with interment at Resthaven Cemetery.
He was born on April 8, 1938 in South Bend, IN the son of Karl Einer and Agda (Jernstrom) Anderson. Lou served in the Army reserves for 6 years. He was a banker for 35 years, the last 18 at West Bank as Vice President of commercial lending.
Lou was a member of the Clive Lyons Club and the Alumni Association of Tulane University. He enjoyed golfing with friends. His favorite past time was watching grandchildren playing sports. Lou was a big Chicago Cub, Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Lou is survived by his wife, Sue of Johnston; two sons, Louie (Sue) Anderson of Des Moines and Jeff (Joely) Anderson of New Sharon, Iowa; daughter, Kandi (Mike) Wood of Brentwood, TN and three grandchildren, Courtney Wood, Zach Anderson and Christina Anderson; his sister Mary Ann (Joe) Sorocco of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLaren's Chapel.
