Louis D. Balseiro, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at home. Born and raised in New York, Louis moved to Old Bridge 42 years ago. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving from 1943 - 1946, receiving the bronze star. He was Executive VP for the Mexican Chamber of Commerce of the US in New York for almost 40 years. Louis was an avid reader; he enjoyed photography, videography, and old movies. He appreciated good music, especially classical & opera. He loved the serenity of sitting in his backyard smoking cigars, listening to the birds, and watching the sky and clouds. He was loved and respected by family & friends.
Louis was predeceased by his first wife, Iris Balseiro, and his second wife, Miriam Balseiro. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Jeannie & Michael Vercillo, his daughter, Shirley Price, his son and daughter in law, Michael & Ellen Balseiro, and his son, Marc Balseiro, and his fiancé, Michelle Huljack; 5 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren; and his brother and sister in law, Robert & Minerva Balseiro.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ, with a prayer service at 7:30pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. Condolences can be sent to www.hegartyfuneralhome.com
