Lucius A. Bertrand Jr., 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in his residence.
He was born in Opelousas, a native of Eunice and lived in Moss Bluff. He was a retired Chief operator with PPG and a board member of the Machinist Local 106 now Local 470. Mr. Bertrand enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ethel Bertrand of Moss Bluff; son, Mark Bertrand and wife Cheryl of Moss Bluff; daughter, Rebecca Watts and husband Adrian of Moss Bluff, Cindy Shortt and husband Chad of Moss Bluff; brothers, Dudley Bertrand of Mamou, Eddie Bertrand of Indiana; sister, Leary Murphy of Lake Charles; 6 grandchildren, Clint Cox and wife, Lacey, Brandon Shortt and wife, Akayla, Michael Shortt, Karlee Shortt, Emily Lopez, Scott Bertrand; 2 step grandchildren, Adrian and Jada Watts.
His funeral will be 12 Noon Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Msgr. Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery.
